<h3>Novice or professional? There&#8217;s something for you!</h3>
<p>Our tutorials are the stepping stones to making your own bespoke jewellery. All videos are suitable for beginners and, for the brave, are open to  interpretation! Choose your own bead colours and styles for a unique finish.</p>
<h3>How to make a Mobile Phone Charm</h3>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="220" height="165" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iAaEbaIZM0o&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="165" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iAaEbaIZM0o&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<p>Make your mobile stand out from the crowd. Customize your mobile phone with a snazzy little charm in just a few easy steps. This is such a simple project anybody can do it, even if you&#8217;ve never beaded before! <span lang="EN-GB"> </span><img title="More..." src="http://www.beadbarmy.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gif" alt="" /></p>
<p><span lang="EN-GB">This is a great way of using up leftover beads from other projects or displaying a favourite bead or pendant. </span></p>
<h3>How to make a Continuous Daisy Chain</h3>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="220" height="165" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/f3F1ZypWGvs&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="165" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/f3F1ZypWGvs&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<p>A continuous daisy chain has endless style possibilities. Use two or three of your favourite colours to match your outfit or mix and match with multi-colours for a necklace that will go with practically anything!</p>
<p><strong>Top Tip!</strong> Keep each different colour of rocaille in a separate dish.</p>
<h3>How to make a Continuous Double Headed Daisy Chain</h3>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="220" height="165" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ucx6Es0Ck4k&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="165" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ucx6Es0Ck4k&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object>The continuous double headed daisy chain is a slghtly more elaborate version of the continous daisy chain. It works well if you want a heavier weight necklace.</p>
<p><strong>Top Tip:</strong> You can use whatever colours you like for the petals but, we suggest, you keep the central beads the same or your design can start to look messy.</p>

<h3>How to make a Charm Bracelet</h3>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="220" height="165" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kPpJ4cenmqs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x2b405b&amp;color2=0x6b8ab6" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="165" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kPpJ4cenmqs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x2b405b&amp;color2=0x6b8ab6" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<p>Charm bracelets have made a huge comeback . <span lang="EN-GB">Part of their appeal is that you can use any beads or pendants in any quantity you like. </span><img title="More..." src="http://www.beadbarmy.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gif" alt="" /></p>
<p><span lang="EN-GB">Pick favourite beads from old jewellery or choose some spanking new ones. Or even mix it up with a bit of both. Chain can be heavy or light depending on the look you&#8217;re going for. Learn the basics with our tutorial video. The rest is up to you!</span></p>
<h3>How to make a Rope Daisy Chain</h3>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="220" height="165" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jCuYEyTzEF4&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x2b405b&amp;color2=0x6b8ab6" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="165" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jCuYEyTzEF4&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x2b405b&amp;color2=0x6b8ab6" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<p>A rope daisy chain has endless style possibilities. Use your favourite colours to create a unique piece of jewellery. Try making an extra long one and knotting it at the bottom for a twenties flapper necklace with a modern twist.<img title="More..." src="http://www.beadbarmy.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gif" alt="" /></p>
<p><strong>Top Tip!</strong> Keep each different colour of rocaille in a separate dish.</p>
<p> </p>
<h3>How to make a Netted Bracelet</h3>
<h3><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="220" height="165" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1dDmA2BY_iA&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x2b405b&amp;color2=0x6b8ab6" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="220" height="165" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1dDmA2BY_iA&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x2b405b&amp;color2=0x6b8ab6" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></h3>
<p>A netted bracelet is a timeless classic and easy to make even if you are a novice. No specialist tools are needed to make this pretty bracelet. We suggest using faceted glass beads as they give a nice sparkly finish.</p>
<p><strong>Top Tip:</strong> Start with about 1 metre of elasticity. If you use more it has a tendency to become knotted. You can always add more if needed, simply by knotting a new length to the end of the previous piece</p>

<p>Some short videos from the people of Brighton and visitors to our city. Watch and see why, when it comes to shopping, Brighton and Hove are second to none!<span id="more-693"></span></p>
<h3><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="374" height="252" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/K90kPa8LmGM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="374" height="252" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/K90kPa8LmGM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object>If you can&#8217;t find it in Brighton, it doesn&#8217;t exist!</h3>
<p>In an age where every town is beginning to look the same with chain upon chain, Brighton is a real breath of fresh air. It holds a labyrinth of independent shops bursting at the seams with character. You will find things in this place that you didn&#8217;t realise you needed! There are hundreds of specialist shops. If you want to splash the cash and it&#8217;s antiques and jewellery you are after, the Lanes are the perfect place to go. If you are looking for something even more unusual the North Laine area is a mecca for artists and crafters. If you do need your basics and can bear to drag yourself away, Churchill Square is there for your usual stores.</p>
<h3>Say hello!</h3>
<div id="attachment_710" class="wp-caption alignright" style="width: 310px"><a title="The world-famous Brighton Bead Shop!" href="http://www.beadbarmy.com/wp-content/brighton-bead-shop.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-710" title="brighton-bead-shop" src="http://www.beadbarmy.com/wp-content/brighton-bead-shop.jpg" alt="The world-famous Brighton Bead Shop!" width="300" height="142" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">The world-famous Brighton Bead Shop!</p></div>
<p>Nestling in the bohemian North Laine quarter is The Brighton Bead Shop. First opened in March 1986, with the idea of supplying not just glass beads but a vast, cosmopolitan mix of jewellery making supplies. It was an icy day notable for a three inch snow fall and less than £50 was taken. A less than auspicious start for the institution it&#8217;s become. It&#8217;s an essential port of call for all eager beaders but you may need a large suitcase to carry all your purchases home! Pop in and tell us you&#8217;ve seen us on the BeadBarmy blog.</p>
<h3><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="230" height="170" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wsmdFJtEtLM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="230" height="170" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wsmdFJtEtLM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object>My Typical Day Christmas Shopping</h3>
<p>Locals and visitors discuss why Christmas shopping is the joy it should be in Brighton and Hove. Avoid the chains and find the perfect gift in this labyrinth of shops.</p>
<p> </p>
<h3> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="230" height="170" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/F66LfEDjzUY&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="230" height="170" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/F66LfEDjzUY&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object>The Atmosphere</h3>
<p>Brighton and Hove are full of colourful characters. When you need to take the weight off, exquisitely decorated shops sit handily next to cosy cafes and friendly pubs. Chances are, there&#8217;ll be some sort of street entertainment to amuse you while you rest those weary feet.   </p>
<p> </p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="230" height="170" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iGReAMGRYVU&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="230" height="170" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iGReAMGRYVU&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<h3>Travelling To And Getting Around The City</h3>
<p>Visiting Brighton is easy by rail and road. Once you&#8217;re here, the bus network is second to none. Although, you may choose to walk the length and breadth so as not to miss out on any of the exciting sights!</p>
