Reader’s Gallery Best of the Festival

Pack up your suncream and wellies and get ready for the Best of the Festival Reader’s Gallery!

Festival going has become as much of a British pastime as drinking tea or talking football. As the festival season commences we start keeping an extra close eye on the weather. We count our tent pegs and, of course, begin to wonder what we are going to wear! Attending a festival gives us a chance for a bit of self expression. Dressing up is a big part of the great escape into a different world.

Readers Gallery - Best of the Festival: Winner - Helen Bowen

Festival best!

We asked you to design some fabulous jewellery to complete your field party outfits. We had some great entries giving a nod to all aspects of festival life – flowers, wellies and rainbows. We even have some rocking pigs appearing in this month’s gallery!

After much deliberation we will be sending Helen Bowen a £10 Beads Unlimited gift voucher. We think her beautifully beaded necklace captured the colour and vibrancy of festival life. We think it would suit any outdoor event.

Get yourself showcased

Thanks for all your great entries and sorry if you didn’t make it into the gallery this time. The current theme running is ‘Olympian Stars’. For a chance to be featured, please email your creations to or post up your photos on our facebook wall by midnight, Sunday 9th September 2012.

If you have your own website or blog that you would like linked to if you are showcased, please let us know with your entry. All we ask is a mention with a link to Beads Unlimited on your page (with the link on the word ‘Beads’).

Yippee! What a lovely surprise. I’d just finished making this piece as part of the LIchfield Festival’s Stripe the City Community Project when you announced the new festival theme. It was just perfect! It’s now on display at the Spellbound Bead Co shop in Lichfield and will be auctioned or raffled off to raise money for their CyberKnife appeal later in the year.
    Thanks Beads Unlimited!
