Have cake and tea and help save lives at sea

We have been wracking our brains for ways for our readers and customers to join in helping us raise money for the RNLI as part of our Silver Jubilee. From all your comments on Bead Barmy, we know you are a sociable bunch out there, so we thought we’d invite you to hold your own tea party! Your beading group, your workplace or just with a group of friends are all great places to hold these events. It doesn’t have to be anything lavish – a Victoria sponge between friends is fine. With a contribution made for each slice eaten.  

How to have a party

If you would like to hold a tea party to help us reach our £10,000 target, we can supply you with a poster to advertise your event. Please contact creative@beadsunlimited.co.uk with your name and postal address so that we can send you a poster and all the info. Please entitle your email ‘Sea and Cakes’.

How to donate

Beads Unlimited have a Virgin Money fundraising page set up where you can donate your tea party takings. After the event

• All contributors will recieve a mention and a link (if you have one) right here on Bead Barmy.
• The tea party that raises the most will recieve a Beads Unlimited gift voucher to the value of 10% of whatever you raise.
• A £10 Beads Unlimited gift voucher will be awarded to our favourite event or cake, so please send photos to creative@beadsunlimited.co.uk and entitle your email ‘Sea and Cakes’. 
• When you have donated, we will send you a link for a badge for your website that you can use, should you wish. This will proudly say that you have supported the RNLI.

If you are rubbish at cooking, remember that there’s always Marks and Spencers! However, if you really are unable to hold a tea party, any donation will be greatly appreciated.
