Hello Angelofthenorth,

You are probably already aware of this, but if you double click our small video screens on here they will take you to a larger version on YouTube. It's much easier to see what's going on.

In answer to your question, when you say a single strand bracelet, do you mean just one string of beads or a netted bracelet as shown? If it is a netted bracelet it is best to start with a metre at a time to avoid tangles. If you need to add more, you can tie another piece on. If you put a dab of glue on the knot it will secure it. Remember to ensure it's dry before you carry on beading!
If you meant literally just a single strand of beads, 25cm of elasticity is usually ample.
I hope this helps.

Alas, the little screens are far too small to see what's going on. All I'd like to know is how to measure Elasticity for a simple single strand bracelet so that the elasticity doesn't break.

Thanks for your comment Jane. This sounds interesting. We'd love to see any ideas you come up with. Any photos of you in your pottery with your jewellery would be a great addition to our blog. We are always very interested in what our subscribers get up to (bead wise!).

For those of you in need of a tiara tutorial, we don't, as yet, have a video but there is a lovely Clematis tiara on the Beads Unlimited website projects page. Copy and paste this link to go straight to it.
